(or Title Review Contingency)
|
So you're planning on buying a home. You and your real estate agent have searched high and low for that perfect place. Now that you think you've found it, it is time to order a presearch. A presearch is a search of all liens against title done before you sign the agreement of sale. This necessary precaution could show your perfect home has a not so perfect title, a problem which could make settlement incredibly expensive if not impossible. If time does not allow a presearch, then a title review clause is suggested for your Agreement of Sale. Upon arranging your title insurance needs with American Search & Settlement Company, a sample clause written by our legal consultant can be provided in an addendum form. |
